What if I can't find a product in the system and I need it for a project or standard?

No problem. Not every product exists in our system yet (and realistically, we’ll never have everything)—so we’ve made it easy to spec these items, whether it’s a product from a brand’s catalog that simply isn’t in our system or a fully custom piece.

➕ Start by Clicking the Plus (+) Button

From within a Project or Standard Folder, click the ➕ button at the top of your spec list to create a new Stub. This is your all-in-one starting point for specifying products that aren’t already in the system.

How It Works

After clicking the ➕, select either:

  • Stub – for a standard product

  • Nested (stub) – if you’d like to nest the spec immediately as part of another item

You’ll then be prompted to fill in a few basic project-specific fields like category, code/tag, location, and so on. From there, you can choose how you’d like to build the spec:

Auto-fill from URL

Paste in a manufacturer or retailer product page, and we’ll do the rest. This is great for running-line products with existing online listings—we’ll grab the image, product name, and any other available info to help you get started fast.

Enter Manually

Spec-ing a custom, one-of-a-kind item or prototype? Use the manual entry option to input the product details yourself.

What Is a Stub, Anyway?

A Stub is simply a product you want to specify that isn’t yet in the Designer Pages product database. It makes the product catalog infinitely expandable.

Stubs behave just like any other spec—you can assign them to rooms, export them, add pricing, attach notes, upload documents, and more.
