If you’re working in Revit and want to bring items into Designer Pages that aren’t yet in your folder, DP Sync for Revit makes it easy.
Step 1: Set Up Your Folder
Before you can send anything over, you’ll need to create the Designer Pages folder you plan to sync to. This ensures the folder is ready to receive imported content.
Step 2: Use “Import Stubs” in Revit
In DP Sync for Revit, open the Import Stubs tab and select the Designer Pages folder you’d like to sync to. Then click Load Families. This will scan your Revit file for all available families and display them for import.
Once the families load:
-
Select the families you want to bring into Designer Pages.
-
Click Continue to move to the category assignment step.
-
We'll automatically assign categories if we can match the family’s typemark prefix to an existing Designer Pages category. For anything we can't match, you can manually select the correct category from a dropdown.
-
Once that’s done, click Create Stubs—and poof! All selected families will be added to your Designer Pages folder as stubs.
Why Use This?
This workflow is ideal for early-stage documentation. It lets you create placeholder specs for items that haven’t been fully selected yet. Later, when decisions are finalized, you can easily swap each stub with the actual product and brand.
It’s a streamlined way to bridge schematic design and specification development—without losing visibility into what still needs to be finalized.
